Origin
The origin of the vicuña has always been surrounded by an aura of magical mystery, an Inca legend tells that the vicuña originated from the water and that it took refuge here to escape a life in captivity. Vicuñas have always lived wild, dominating the harsh Andean plateaus. Wearing their coat was a rare privilege reserved for royalty. These wonderful animals produce such an extraordinary fleece that it is still considered the rarest and most valuable fabric in the world.
